After that we went to the Air and Space museum. We found a great bus called the Circulator that took us from the memorial to the museum. I think this is probably DC's best kept secret. For $1 the entire family rode (kids were free) and we had the whole thing to ourselves. It was air conditioned and we got to see most of the major DC buildings (Capitol, Supreme Court etc...). It would have been quite the trek for the kids so I'm glad we were able to take advantage of the bus.
After our time at the museum we went to Union Station for lunch. Ian was able to pose with honest Abe before we left.
Then on Sunday we went see Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. It was a pretty cool movie, made extra special by the fact that we had just been to the Air & Space museum the day before. There were two major scenes filmed there. You should've seen Ian's eyes light up when he recognized the museum!
Monday was spent doing a little shopping in the morning and then naps in the afternoon for the tired kiddos and parents. Before nap time I let them water my plant. Trevor got it for me for Mother's Day. Isn't it beautiful?
As you can see more water ended up on the pavement then it did in the plant, but that's ok because we've had some really heavy rain overnight and this morning.
