Hair, rain and packing

Well, we decided to leave Ian's hair the way it is for now. Ian said he liked it - it makes him look like Four Arms from Ben Ten. I guess we'll just wait until it grows out a little bit and then buzz it again to even it out. For now we just have to deal with the looks and sometimes comments from strangers. It's a lesson for me in learning not to care what others think!

We had quite a bit of freezing rain here last night. It started around the time that I had to take Jenna to the doctor to get her flu shot. It wasn't too bad by the time I got home, but overnight it appeared to freeze up pretty good. Now it's just raining. Since the federal government opened 2 hours late and gave liberal leave Trevor decided to work from home - one of the wonderful benefits of his job! He also took yesterday off because I had a couple of doctor's appointments (one for me and one for Jenna). And he has Friday off because that's when we're leaving to go to Pittsburgh to see Trevor's aunt. So... this is a very short work week for him. It's nice having him home in the middle of the week like this.

This weekend will be our very first trip with Jenna. I'm looking forward to getting away - we haven't been anywhere since last April. And it's always very relaxing to go to Aunt Sherry's house. My mission however is to learn how to pack light. It's amazing how much stuff you need for a baby! A pack-n-play, a booster seat for meal times, diapers, burp cloths, extra changes of clothes, baby food etc... We had to pack all the same things for Ian when he was a baby, but we had a lot more room in the car with just him. It should be interesting and a tight fit!
